The geographical and geopolitical context of #IStandWithPutin

 

In the first days of March the hashtag #IStandWithPutin was the number 1 trending hashtag on Twitter. As the use of this hashtag faded away almost as quickly as it appeared, it proved to be an interesting case to analyse the geographical and geopolitical context of the tweets, topics and people that were being discussed during this twitterstorm. As a dataset we used 73,188 tweets, posted between 23-01-2021 and 28-03-2022.
